Ugly course. Either Ed Ault had a bad day when he designed this, or someone changed it (most likely as one can see filled-in fairway bunkers). Most players seemed like local choppers with pull carts, who played in a large group. I guess that this is what keeps it in business. Course was in bad shape, with rocks in the ground in the rough. Plays through homes & some slum-looking apartment buildings. "Clubhouse" is a tired old cinder block building. Pro shop & 19th hole are sad. I tried it once, but don't think I'll be back.

Fairways have taken a real beating with the drought, no sprinkler system. Greens and tee boxes in good shape. When fairways and roughs are maintained, this course is a bargain. Not real imaginative in its layout, but a fair test at a good price. Pace of play is not monitored or enforced and can be brutal on holidays.

I play may be prejudiced but Westpark is my home course. We play almost every Saturday morning. The course has rebounded from a few years ago. The new ownership has taken an interest to make this an enjoyable course to play for all skill levels. Pace of play is excellent. We usually play in 4 hours or 4 hours 15 minutes on a weekend morning. Tee times are set at 10 minutes apart which improves pace of play. Course is in good condition tee to green. The other raters need to give Westpark another chance. They will find a greatly improved course.
